Corelio tekent voor realisatie ‘Flanders Today’

Op 17 oktober 2007 werd tijdens een persconferentie in het Brusselse Hiltonhotel het eerste nummer voorgesteld van Flanders Today, het allereerste gratis Engelstalige weekblad over Vlaanderen. Het initiatief berust bij Vlaams minister van Buitenlands Beleid Geert Bourgeois die de internationale scène van diplomaten, euroambtenaren, buitenlandse journalisten, toeristen en buitenlandse studenten op die manier zo goed mogelijk wil informeren over Vlaanderen.

De realisatie van Flanders Today berust volledig in handen van Corelio dat het na een openbare aanbestedingsprocedure haalde van een aantal andere geïnteresseerde Vlaamse mediagroepen.

Binnen de schoot van ons dochterbedrijf Ackroyd is een onafhankelijke Engelstalige redactie onder het hoofdredacteurschap van Derek Blyth verantwoordelijk voor de invulling van de verschillende rubrieken binnen Flanders Today. Dezelfde redactie is ook verantwoordelijk voor het opzetten van de website www.flanderstoday.eu met meer achtergrond, interessante links en actuele informatie. De ontwikkeling van de site berustte bij Corelio E-Media.

Corelio Printing staat in voor het drukken van het weekblad. Wekelijks zullen zo’n 20.000 exemplaren gratis worden verspreid, onder meer op 4.000 hotelkamers en via displays.

Corelio signe la réalisation de ‘Flanders Today’

Aujourd’hui, le numéro un de Flanders Today, le tout premier hebdomadaire gratuit en anglais sur la Flandre, sera présenté à l’occasion d’une conférence de presse organisée à l’hôtel Hilton à Bruxelles. Il s’agit là d’une initiative du ministre flamand des Affaires étrangères, Geert Bourgeois, qui souhaite informer au mieux la scène internationale des diplomates, journalistes étrangers, étudiants étrangers et touristes sur la Flandre.

La réalisation de Flanders Today est entièrement prise en charge par Corelio, qui a remporté le marché à l’issue d'une procédure d'adjudication publique à laquelle participaient d'autres groupes média flamands.

Au sein de notre filiale Ackroyd, une rédaction anglophone indépendante, dirigée par le rédacteur en chef Derek Blyth, est responsable de la mise en oeuvre des différentes rubriques de Flanders Today. Cette même rédaction se charge également de la création d'un site internet www.flanderstoday.eu, contenant davantage d'informations de fond, des liens intéressants et des informations actualisées. Ce site a été développé par Corelio E-media.

Corelio Printing se charge de l’impression de cet hebdomadaire. Chaque semaine, 20.000 exemplaires seront ainsi distribués gratuitement, notamment dans 4.000 chambres d'hôtel et par le biais de présentoirs.

Corelio signs deal to publish ‘Flanders Today’

The first issue of Flanders Today, the first free weekly English language paper in Flanders, will be presented today at a press conference in the Brussels Hilton hotel. The project is an initiative of the Flemish minister for Foreign Affairs Geert Bourgeois and the aim is to inform international diplomats, EU officials, foreign journalists, tourists and foreign students about Flanders.

The production will be done by Corelio, who won a public tender competition. Several other Flemish media groups also submitted bids.

Flanders Today will be provided by an independent editorial team led by chief editor Derek Blyth. They will be based in the offices of our subsidiary Ackroyd Publications. The same editorial staff will also be responsible for the web site www.flanderstoday.eu, with background information, interesting links and current news. This web site was developed by Corelio E-media department.

Corelio Printing manages the printing of the weekly paper. Some 20,000 free copies will be distributed every week, including 4,000 in hotel rooms and others on display stands or through the post.
